The Stanwood-Camano School Board proclaimed the week of May 8-12 as Teacher Appreciation Week during the regular board meeting on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Additionally, the School Board heard three annual reports:

An annual report about the district’s safety plans from Assistant Superintendent Ryan Ovenell

An annual report about the Highly Capable Program from Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Colin Ryan, and Port Susan Middle School Assistant Principal Crysty Auckland;
-
An annual report on Isolation and Restraint (Policy 3246) from Robert Hascall, Executive Director of Special Services.
The Board also accepted the following donation:

$2,800 from the Haggen Foundation through the Building Futures Together fundraising campaign to benefit local schools, community scholarships, and youth programs.
