SAISD to Provide Free Meals for Students While School is Closed | News Item
Due to several USDA waiver extensions, we are offering FREE meals to ALL children ages 1 to 18, through June 30th, 2021.  We encourage ALL families to participate in this program, regardless of income.  Children do not need to be enrolled in our district, and no questions will be asked.  Children do not need to be present at the time of pick-up, although a signature will be required.

Per USDA regulations, we can only serve each child  1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch per day, whether it is a Grab Meal or an in-school meal.  So as to not duplicate meals served, we are currently offering three different meal service options:

Pre-Ordered FREE 7-Day Meal  Grab & Go Meal Bags
for children ages 1 - 18 and students in the distance learning model.

Pre-Ordered FREE 5-Day Meal Grab & Go Meal Bags
for elementary students attending school in the hybrid model, PBIS or ASSIST
(These meals are intended to be eaten when the students are not in school -
for meals while on campus see below)

FREE In-School Meals for Elementary Hybrid, ASSIST & PBIS students on campus
(Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays,  &  Fridays  - no pre-ordering required)
(Please note meals are not served or available on Wednesdays)

We need your help in our mission to make delicious and nutritious meals accessible to all families in our community while reducing food waste. Pre-orders let us know how many meals to prepare. Although each location will have extra meals on hand, there is no guarantee a meal will be available if you don't pre-order.
