The revenue for funding the transportation of your students to and from school is a combination of your levy dollars and the State's funding. The state determines its share of the funding through a process called STARS (Student Transportation Allocation Reporting System). This system looks at the number of students riding the buses, how many buses we use, how far it is between the pickup point and the school, and numerous other data. After the State determines it's funding, then the balance is taken care of by the levy. The major factor for state funding is how many students are riding, which is counted three times per year.
